Darius Merriweather is a Social Media Community Management Specialist at AmeriHealth New Jersey. In this role, he is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the AmeriHealth New Jersey social media channels while focusing on developing associate-based content. He also manages the employee social media advocacy program called AmeriHealth Insiders which curates specific content designed to encourage associates to amplify and engage with company posts. Among other duties he was also appointed to the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
Before his time at AmeriHealth New Jersey, he spent time at Comcast NBCUniversal in Philadelphia where he was the Communications Coordinator for Military and Veteran Affairs as well as ESPN where he served as a Digital Content Associate for the ESPN app, website and social media platforms.
He is also active in the community as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. where he serves the Philadelphia metropolitan area with community service, mentorship and providing scholarships for high school and college students. With this organization, he also serves as the social media correspondent for his chapter along with the national organization.
Darius holds a bachelor’s degree in Digital Media where he mastered content production as well as digital media marketing. He is a native of South Jersey where he graduated from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees. A decorated three-sport athlete, he earned a full Division 1 scholarship to play football for the Southern Illinois Salukis before transferring to the University of Findlay where he earned his degree.
