Senior Vice President, Social Media
CMI / Compas
@CMI_Compas
Julie has been an innovative change-maker wherever she lends her talent. From her time in New York City, working across nearly every industry from fashion, non-profit, technology, consumer goods, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, Julie has never accepted the status-quo. She started her professional career building services for agencies and clients in the social space when we were only scratching the surface of what could be done. She identified emerging areas of opportunities, and connected with bloggers and publications for development, ideas, and support, and built up databases and a network of contacts from the ground up to form one of the first ever social media offerings our industry had seen. Julie regularly spoke in partnership with early social media influencers and clients about the value of social media throughout sessions in New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago. Julie combined her knowledge of traditional and digital media, and launched services that were truly in their infancy at that time. Julie continued to strive for the best, and took those talents to lead social media teams and eventually helped to build a startup agency during her time working in NYC. Before her time at CMI/Compas, Julie previously served as Director of Marketing at Digitas Health LifeBrands and VP of Digital and Social at Connect360 Multimedia. For the past 3 years, Julie has been paving the way for all things social at CMI/Compas and now leads a team of more than 40 employees.

Kathy Wahlbin
VP Enterprise Accessibility and General Manager
The Paciello Group
Kathy is a digital accessibility expert who has been working in the field of accessibility since 2001. As an invited expert of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group, W3C Mobile Accessibility Task Force, and the WCAG 2.0 Evaluation Methodology Task Force, she contributes to the development of new accessibility standards, guidelines, techniques and methodologies.
Most recently Kathy has been leading the W3C Mobile Accessibility task force, which is defining the accessibility requirements for small screen devices and touch interfaces that are part of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 standards.
Kathy helps companies understand accessibility requirements and provides them with accessibility assessments, support, and strategy for ADA, WCAG, and Section 508 compliance. As a recognized accessibility expert, Kathy is a frequent speaker at conferences educating people on the importance of accessibility and has provided accessibility training for many corporations, government agencies and universities.
She grew up with a parent who is hard-of-hearing and she watched a cousin with Down Syndrome go through the trials and tribulations of public school. These experiences, along with working at a camp for kids with disabilities, greatly influenced her decision to enter the field of accessibility. After college a mutual friend introduced her to John Slatin, who, at that time, was working on WCAG 1.0 standards. He was looking for volunteers to help conduct user testing with students with disabilities to figure out techniques for accessibility and to help with the development of the standards. She soon got involved with Knowbility and started promoting accessibility, working alongside Jim Thatcher for many years. Both Jim Thatcher and John Slatin were her mentors.
